Mission

The Community for Learning is a bilingual elementary and secondary school, which focuses on the individual needs of each student, taking into account academic, social and emotional needs, in order to ready them for the challenges of a world in constant change.  We follow a Dominican as well as international curriculum, preparing our students to be members of a global community.

Philosophy

The Community for Learning is a bilingual school, where students learn to become independent learners, logical problem solvers and cooperative team players.  All of these qualities give students a strong sense of self worth.

As we are a bilingual school, we recognize the need to perfect the reading and writing of English as well as Spanish. It is essential that Spanish classes be enjoyable and that the children develop an interest in their own language, their country, their culture and their roots.

At the Community For Learning students are valued for their creativity and diversity. They feel challenged by a curriculum, which includes the best of current instructional practices. They are engaged in problem solving through a variety of experiences. Students are motivated to make sense of themselves and the world around them through real life experiences and in-depth theme studies.

Our goal is to stimulate our students thinking through open discussion and debate, helping them to develop their reasoning skills. The ability to argue their point of view and to think logically will help them become responsible and independent individuals able to face daily challenges.

The Community for Learning is accredited under the Resolution #059-2000 and #017-2004 by the Secretary of Education of the Dominican Republic
